As Yr11 start to feel the pressure with mocks fast approaching we thought we would share a list of tips to help you support your child’s learning at home. This is relevant for all year groups and helps develop good learning habits for the future. Please share any more via the comments section.

1. Find out what is being studied in the lesson and engage in conversation about topics.

2. Try and link what they are learning in school to real life events, it can help topics seem less abstract.

3. Encourage your child to plan their time, balancing out of school commitments, extra-curricular activities and homework.  Sometimes a child’s time becomes filled up gradually and without realising it they are over committed and unable to really succeed as they should.

4. Register for show my homework. Priestlands show my homework this allows you to see what homework is being set and will help you to encourage your child to stay on top of deadlines and plan their time.
